Rosemary Garlic Naan Bread

  • ¼ oz of yeast
  • 1 cup of lukewarm water
  • ¼ cup of white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 TBS of 2% milk
  • 1 tsp kosher sea salt
  • 4 cups of all purpose flour (additional ½ cup for rolling out dough)
  • ¼ cup of olive oil (additional 2 tsp to oil pan)
  • 3 TBS of fresh minced rosemary
  • 3 cloves of minced garlic
  1. In large bowl place yeast and water, whisk for about a minute. Allow yeast and water to sit for an additional 10 minutes.
  2. Once the 10 minute mark is up add sugar,egg,milk,salt, and flour to the water and yeast.
  3. Knead the flour for about 5 minutes, making sure all the ingredients are well incorporated.
  4. Cover bowl and allow flour to rise for about 1.5 hrs.
  5. While flour is doubling in size, in a small bowl mix ¼ cup of olive oil, rosemary, and garlic.
  6. Once the 1.5hr mark is up, check your flour. It should be doubled in size.
  7. On a clean surface divide the flour in 8 balls.
  8. Sprinkle surface with additional flour.You want to make sure when you roll out the dough it does not stick.
  9. In a large pan heat additional olive oil on medium low heat.
  10. Roll out each ball one at a time until is resembles a circle.
  11. Place naan in the heated pan and Cook for about 3 minutes or until you see little bubbles on the surface of the dough.
  12. Once naan is done cooking, brush each side with the rosemary garlic mixture.
  13. Enjoy!
